About the Role
We are looking for product-focused systems engineers to work on Teleport Core Product. You will work on performance and scalability, security and networking, and integrations with external systems. The role covers the full product lifecycle, including understanding customer problems, writing RFDs for proposed designs, implementation, testing, and documentation.
Teleport is an open-core project, and most of the code is open source and written in Go.
Responsibilities
- Become an expert on the scalability, performance, and reliability of Teleport in large deployments.
- Design, develop, and ship high-quality products.
- Write most of the code in Go.
- Collaborate closely with other Teleport teams on scalability and performance matters.
- Work directly with customers to diagnose and remediate performance issues.
- Grow your technical expertise.
Requirements
- Willingness to collaborate with Teleport engineers on a Go coding challenge during the interview process.
- Builder mentality and experience, with a strong interest in building zero-to-one products.
- Extensive experience with Go.
- Extensive experience developing scalable, reliable, and performant distributed systems and platforms.
- Linux systems engineering experience.
- Knowledge of Identity Management, RBAC, ABAC, and zero-trust security models.
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to master new technologies.
- Transparency, honesty, and a no-ego mindset.
- Significant open-source contributions are a plus.
Interview Process
The process includes a meeting with a Teleport recruiter, a meeting with the Hiring Manager, and a collaborative coding challenge in Go using GitHub. The challenge usually takes about two weeks and concludes with a review meeting with the Hiring Manager and an interview team member.
