Details
NVIDIA is hiring for a role at the intersection of autonomous driving and functional safety. The role focuses on ensuring the safety of NVIDIA DRIVE products at scale by integrating safety measures, cooperating with customers, and feeding system-level safety requirements back into development teams. The posting positions the role as a Lead Safety Architect responsible for customer engagement and safety strategy for autonomous vehicle systems.
Responsibilities
- Represent NVIDIA’s functional safety strategy and architectures to customers.
- Work closely with customers to understand their functional safety requirements and system architectures and feed those back into development teams.
- Assist customers to safely integrate and validate NVIDIA products in their systems and vehicles.
- Support customer-facing safety collateral.
- Tailor functional safety platforms and safety analyses for strategic customers.
- Collaborate with safety management, solution architects, sales, and technical marketing teams to deliver state-of-the-art products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience) with at least 5 years of relevant experience in system safety, functional safety, or systems engineering (or an advanced degree with equivalent experience).
- Deep understanding of functional safety system architectures needed to meet the ISO 26262 functional safety standard. Experience with market-adjacent standards such as IEC 61508 can also be considered.
- Experience interacting with customers and managing engagements.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Ways to Stand Out / Preferred Qualifications
- ADAS or autonomous vehicle systems, robotics, or industrial safety experience.
- Experience with system safety methodologies & practices (FMEA, FTA, STPA, etc.) and safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, UL4600, ISO 21448, ISO 8800, etc.).
- Knowledge and experience with ECU/board-level E/E design and validation.
Compensation & Additional Information
- Base salary range: 152,000 USD - 241,500 USD (your base salary will be determined based on location, experience, and pay of employees in similar positions).
