NVIDIA's GeForce NOW is a cloud gaming service powered by NVIDIA GPUs that enables users to stream games in high definition with low latency across Macs, PCs, and mobile devices. NVIDIA's low-latency streaming technology also supports augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
The team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Streaming with strong C++ skills and a deep interest in streaming technologies to help build next-generation applications with media and data streaming capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, optimize, and debug C++ software for ultra-low-latency streaming systems.
- Build and improve media streaming pipelines using WebRTC, GStreamer, RTP/RTCP, and related protocols.
- Analyze CPU, memory, networking, media pipeline, and scheduling behavior across real-world workloads.
- Work across Windows, Linux, QNX, application frameworks, and embedded platforms.
- Define and implement KPIs for networking quality, streaming quality, and user experience.
- Integrate streaming software with platform services, connectivity layers, and/or automotive system components.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in C++ software development, optimization, and debugging.
- Strong understanding of operating systems, multithreading, memory management, networking, and systems programming.
- Ability to debug complex issues across software, operating systems, media pipelines, platforms, and hardware boundaries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a self-motivated approach.
- In-depth knowledge of WebRTC architecture, peer connection lifecycle, ICE handshake, and real-time protocols including SRTP, DTLS-SRTP, and SCTP.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with streaming protocols and technologies such as RTP, WebRTC, WebSockets, and QUIC.
- Experience with video codecs and formats such as H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, and AV1; color spaces; or hardware-accelerated encoding and decoding.
- Experience with QNX, QNX Safety, Linux, or embedded operating systems for safety-critical platforms.
- Experience with automotive software, telematics, connected vehicle platforms, infotainment, or car connectivity.
