NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Developer Technology Engineer specializing in CPU performance. The role focuses on researching algorithms and techniques to optimize data-intensive applications, investigating hardware and system bottlenecks, and improving the performance of critical applications on heterogeneous CPU and GPU computing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop techniques to accelerate large-scale applications running on NVIDIA's advanced CPU platforms.
  • Work with technical experts from industry and academia to analyze and optimize complex database and data analytics workloads for modern CPU architectures.
  • Publish and present optimization techniques in developer blogs, conferences, and workshops.
  • Influence the design of next-generation hardware architectures, software, and programming models in collaboration with research, hardware, system software, libraries, and tools teams.
  • Investigate customer application performance, design parallel algorithms, and implement optimizations in accelerated computing environments.
  • Contribute application expertise that influences future NVIDIA hardware and software products.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related computationally focused science discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work or research experience.
  • Expert knowledge of modern CPU architectures, including ARM and x86, as well as systems and operating systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of CPU architecture fundamentals, particularly memory subsystems, cache, DRAM, and storage.
  • Hands-on experience with low-level parallel programming, vectorization, CPU intrinsics, and concurrent data structures.
  • Fluency in modern C and C++ with a deep understanding of algorithms, concurrency, and optimization techniques.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience optimizing distributed database systems and frameworks, such as production databases or Spark.
  • Background in compression, storage systems, networking, and distributed computer architectures.
  • Knowledge of GPU architectures.
