NVIDIA is looking for a Senior Linux Kernel Software Engineer to join its Linux networking drivers R&D team. The team works on innovative, next-generation network interface cards, including NVIDIA ConnectX and BlueField network adapters.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and implement Linux kernel networking drivers for NVIDIA ConnectX and BlueField network adapters, as well as userspace libraries.
  • Develop high-quality code for the Linux kernel and open-source environments, contributing to the upstream kernel community.
  • Collaborate with teams across the globe to debug issues and provide networking solutions.
  • Drive complex technical issues to closure across team boundaries.
  • Lead the complete engineering process, including requirements refinement, engineering design of data structures and algorithms, implementation, peer review, developer testing, and post-GA support.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with continuous development and deployment cycles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Native C programming experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Experience with Linux kernel-level programming.
  • Deep understanding of networking drivers, software and hardware interaction, device drivers, Linux kernel internals, and userspace-kernel interactions.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, and network device driver architecture.
  • Strong self-management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the upstream Linux kernel community and open-source contributions.
  • Proficiency in data structures and operating system internals.
  • Hands-on expertise with RDMA and RoCE.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
