Change Management Data Analysis JiraDetails
The Senior Project Manager – Business & Risk Analysis is responsible for governance, project management, business analysis, and risk management of initiatives within the Tech Standards sub-department. The role partners with teams across Booking.com to facilitate work between product, technology, business units, and centralized functions.
The role combines senior project management with structured business and risk analysis. It ensures that proposed changes to planning, reporting, and Jira tooling are grounded in business needs, supported by evidence, and assessed for broader impact before implementation. The Senior Project Manager helps teams scope and plan initiatives by documenting project goals, KPIs, roadmaps, requirements, and key deliverables, while ensuring that decisions, dependencies, and outcomes are transparent to stakeholders.
The role works collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels, including Director level, and may engage external vendors or stakeholders where required. It helps teams mitigate risks and dependencies, maintain progress against milestones, and ensure that roadmaps and plans remain aligned to agreed business priorities, enterprise strategies, and shared objectives.

- Own successful delivery of the end-to-end project lifecycle, including execution, analysis, recommendation, implementation, and closure.
- Independently lead low- to medium-complexity projects with global and cross-functional impact.
- Drive project scoping and planning by documenting project goals, KPIs, roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and main deliverables.

Business and Risk Analysis
- Perform detailed risk and impact analysis for proposed changes to tooling, processes, workflows, and governance.
- Consider the second-order impacts of tooling changes before they are handed to PInT for delivery or implementation.
- Assess how proposed rules, workflows, or configuration changes could affect team ways of working, create unnecessary friction, introduce unintended consequences, or affect downstream reporting.
- Identify assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and failure modes early, and translate them into practical recommendations and mitigation actions.
- Balance standardisation with the needs of different teams and business contexts, ensuring governance decisions are proportionate, evidence-based, and workable in practice.
- Provide clear recommendations to decision-makers, including expected benefits, trade-offs, risks, and implementation considerations.
Requirements Analysis and Documentation
- Translate business needs and operational problems into clear, detailed, and actionable technical requirements for PInT and other delivery partners.
- Define problem statements, desired outcomes, business rules, user impacts, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and implementation considerations.
- Maintain accurate, accessible, and up-to-date project, process, decision, and requirements documentation.
- Establish and maintain a single source of truth covering the current state, agreed decisions, requirements, roadmap, and ownership.
- Communicate complex requirements and project insights clearly and structurally to technical and non-technical audiences.
Data Analysis and Hypothesis Testing
- Use Jira and Oboard data to quantify problems, identify patterns, and support prioritisation.
- Formulate hypotheses about process, tooling, and data-quality issues, and test them through structured analysis.
- Analyse data to validate assumptions, measure the impact of proposed changes, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Translate analysis into concise insights, recommendations, and decision materials for stakeholders.
- Promote evidence-based planning and reporting, using data to distinguish isolated issues from systemic problems.
Working Group Coordination and Improvement Backlog Management
- Support coordination and day-to-day management of the improvement backlog raised by Business Operations, Programme Management, Product, and Technology working groups.
- Bring together requests from working groups, clarify the underlying problem, assess impact and risk, and prepare items for prioritisation.
- Track actions, decisions, dependencies, and follow-ups across working groups.
- Create a transparent view of improvement demand, priorities, ownership, status, and expected outcomes.
- Facilitate collaboration between working group representatives, PInT, and other stakeholders to move improvements from problem definition through delivery and adoption.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels inside and, where required, outside the organisation.
- Work collaboratively with business unit partners, corporate support teams, and functional technology teams to drive enterprise strategy execution.
- Build engagement and, where needed, governance around decisions required for work to be approved and signed off.
- Communicate project insights, risks, options, and recommendations clearly across relevant stakeholder groups.
- Work productively with diverse stakeholders up to Director level and create alignment across teams with different priorities and perspectives.
