Details
NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to conduct basic and applied research for autonomous vehicles. The Autonomous Vehicle Research group works on agent behavior models, end-to-end autonomous vehicle architectures, AI safety, closed-loop training approaches, and autonomous vehicle foundation models, including vision-language models and reasoning models. Researchers are encouraged to publish their work, open-source code, and transfer technology into production systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cutting-edge techniques for vehicle autonomy.
- Publish and present original research at conferences and events.
- Collaborate with research team members, internal product teams, and external researchers.
- Transfer or open-source developed technologies to relevant product groups.
- Collaborate with product teams to transfer research results into high-end, production-level systems.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of relevant research experience in vehicle or robot autonomy.
- Strong knowledge of the theory and practice of vehicle or robot autonomy, or a related area with a strong interest in applying the work to autonomous vehicles.
- Track record of research excellence, with publications in top conferences and journals such as RSS, ICRA, IJRR, NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, and TAC, as well as other research artifacts such as software projects.
- Exceptional programming skills in Python, along with C++ and parallel programming such as CUDA.
- Solid understanding of machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, research-focused team.
