Details

We are looking for a Senior SoC Software Engineer to help shape the future of accelerated computing within CPU and data center organizations. You will develop foundational technology for AI factories, next-generation data centers, autonomous platforms, and space-based data centers. The role involves building and maintaining software for complex heterogeneous computing systems that power AI, high-performance computing, and accelerated computing workloads.

You will help bring sophisticated server products from early silicon through deployment while improving performance, reliability, power efficiency, and serviceability. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, firmware, operating systems, and AI, and involves solving system-level problems for future data center products.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop SoC software, validation solutions, and test frameworks to validate and stress complex SoCs and systems throughout the complete software development lifecycle.
  • Work across user space, the kernel, firmware, and SoC boot software.
  • Develop next-generation system validation and reliability software covering virtual prototypes, first silicon, production-ready hardware, large-scale deployment, and rapid failure resolution across standard and custom platforms.
  • Improve the efficiency, intelligence, robustness, and user experience of software used for design validation, thermal and power characterization, manufacturing screening, and customer platform bring-up.
  • Investigate and perform root-cause analysis of complex board- and system-level failures across hardware and software boundaries.
  • Collaborate across the company and with customers and partners to bring next-generation computing platforms to life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong C and C++ programming skills, including object-oriented design and development.
  • Experience with low-level systems software, device drivers, firmware, or hardware-facing programming.
  • Strong understanding of processor architecture fundamentals, preferably ARM.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills, particularly for issues spanning multiple system layers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and planning skills, with the ability to lead technically complex initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals and ARM-based platforms.
  • Experience developing systems, validation, or reliability software for data center, server, AI infrastructure, or other mission-critical platforms.
  • Experience planning and executing pre-silicon or post-silicon bring-up for complex SoCs and platforms.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them to deliver results within ambitious timelines.
  • Experience contributing to large-scale software projects.
  • Experience applying AI, automation, or data-driven techniques to accelerate validation, analyze failures, and improve system reliability throughout the software product lifecycle.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Level 4 base salary: USD 184,000–287,500 per year.
  • Level 5 base salary: USD 224,000–356,500 per year.
  • Eligible for equity and benefits.
  • Applications will be accepted at least until October 11, 2026.
  • This posting is for an existing vacancy.
  • NVIDIA uses AI tools in its recruiting processes.
  • NVIDIA is committed to an inclusive work environment and is an equal opportunity employer.
