Details

NVIDIA's System Software group is hiring a System Software Engineer to focus on Tegra Diagnostics. The role involves developing and maintaining software for complex heterogeneous computing systems that power server, automotive, and embedded products supporting AI, HPC, and accelerated computing workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Develop drivers, tests, and frameworks that efficiently stress the system-on-chip (SoC) and support the full software development lifecycle. Work may include user-space, kernel, firmware, or SoC boot software.
  • Participate in system architecture analysis and collaborate with internal software teams to define and design use cases that push the SoC and system to their limits for power, noise patterns, and bandwidth metrics.
  • Lead initiatives to improve the efficiency, robustness, and user-friendliness of software used for design validation, thermal and power characterization, manufacturing screening, and external customer bring-up.
  • Debug and perform root-cause analysis of complex data-center module- and rack-level failures.
  • Recommend remediations and drive software architecture improvements when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with teams throughout the company, as well as customers and partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • 8 or more years of experience.
  • Strong C and C++ programming and object-oriented programming skills.
  • Experience with low-level or driver-level programming.
  • Understanding of processor architecture fundamentals, preferably ARM.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and planning skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Linux kernel internals.
  • Knowledge of server and PC system architecture.
  • Experience planning and executing pre-silicon and post-silicon bring-up for complex SoCs and platforms.
  • Consistent record of learning new technologies on the job in a time-bound manner.
  • Experience working in teams on large software projects.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range is USD 184,000–287,500 for Level 4 and USD 224,000–356,500 for Level 5. Salary is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits.

Applications will be accepted at least until May 24, 2026. NVIDIA uses AI tools in its recruiting processes and is an equal opportunity employer.
