Details

NVIDIA Aerial CUDA Accelerated RAN is a framework for building high-performance, software-defined, cloud-native Radio Access Network functions on NVIDIA CPU, GPU, and DPU-based systems. This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and scaling a platform for 5G and 6G networks and software-defined digital signal processing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of an end-to-end reference system stack for 5G and 6G baseband systems.
  • Optimize CPU, GPU, and NIC subsystems for predictable low latency and maximum throughput.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve performance bottlenecks in CPU, GPU, and NIC subsystems.
  • Troubleshoot and integrate complex software modules in a laboratory environment.
  • Develop baseband functions using C, C++, Python, and CUDA on GPU platforms.
  • Support system integration, performance testing, system demonstrations, and laboratory trials for end-to-end systems.
  • Serve as a technical bridge between NVIDIA's engineering team and partner or customer engineering teams.
  • Engage with customer field trials and technical teams.
  • Implement missing features to unblock customer and partner progress.
  • Benchmark and develop or evaluate test tools for Aerial SDK evaluation.

Requirements

  • Background in wireless communication systems or digital signal processing.
  • Industry experience developing PHY/MAC layer or baseband unit software in C or C++.
  • Understanding of PHY/MAC layer procedures, typical performance trade-offs, and overall system performance.
  • Experience with LTE/5G MAC and PHY from both systems and low-level 3GPP specification perspectives.
  • Ability to move between high-level systems views and low-level details of complex wireless systems.
  • Experience using wireless laboratory equipment such as signal generators, network analyzers, and power meters.
  • Exposure to CUDA or GPU programming is a plus.
  • Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in software development or systems engineering.
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor or take a technical leadership role.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with management and engineering teams.
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry or working with telecommunications customers or partners.
  • Strong time-management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills for coordinating multiple initiatives and implementing new technologies and products in complex projects.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range for Level 4: USD 184,000–287,500 per year.
  • Base salary range for Level 5: USD 224,000–356,500 per year.
  • Eligibility for equity and benefits.
