Details

Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company. Employees are expected to meet quarterly for in-person working sessions called “surges.”

The Data Platform team builds and operates systems that centralize Coinbase’s internal and third-party data, enabling teams across the company to access, process, and transform it for analytics, machine learning, and end-user experiences. In this senior engineering role, you will work across the full stack of data platform systems, including foundational processing and storage, scalable pipelines, and frameworks and internal tools that make data easy to use.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate foundational data services, including cloud warehouses, data lakes, Airflow orchestration, Spark and SQL batch processing, and Kafka streaming.
Build and maintain data integration and processing SDKs used by internal services and product teams.
Design self-service tools that enable users to manage and troubleshoot their own data pipelines.
Build services for data security, observability, quality, cataloging, and lineage.
Turn requests from analytics, machine learning, and security teams into reusable, scalable patterns.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience, including senior-level ownership.
Strong backend development skills in Python, Go, or Java.
Hands-on experience with data systems or data pipelines.
Familiarity with scale-out, caching, key/value, and columnar storage design patterns.
Working knowledge of SQL and Airflow for operational data analysis.
Responsible use of generative AI, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Compensation

Annual base salary range: ₹6,612,000–₹6,612,600 INR.
Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and medical, dental, and vision benefits.
