Details

NVIDIA's GeForce NOW is a cloud gaming service powered by NVIDIA GPUs that enables users to stream games in high definition with minimal latency. The team is extending this technology to applications including virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, remote-controlled robotics, autonomous vehicles, and edge-to-cloud real-time streaming.

The team develops a high-performance, low-latency streaming stack that delivers high video quality and smooth gameplay for cloud gaming users.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve the media streaming stack to deliver ultra-low streaming latency, high video quality, and network resilience.
  • Innovate, design, and develop features that improve image quality, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Analyze GPU and CPU performance for the video pipeline, isolate bottlenecks, and implement solutions in collaboration with GPU hardware and software teams.
  • Develop tools to measure the video quality experienced by users and enable high-confidence evaluation of quality improvements.
  • Leverage the latest video compression technologies to deliver high-quality streaming solutions tailored to different interactive graphics applications.
  • Build adaptive streaming solutions that maintain quality and continuity under variable and unreliable network conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, multithreaded programming, and system software design.
  • Experience with GPU-accelerated video and graphics pipelines, hardware-based video encoders, color spaces, video scaling, tone mapping, and related operations.
  • Familiarity with API frameworks including DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, OpenGL, V4L2, and NvMedia.
  • Solid understanding of video codecs including H.264, HEVC, and AV1, including tuning codec configurations to meet application requirements and manage trade-offs.
  • Proficiency in telemetry, statistical data analysis, and performance monitoring to measure and optimize video quality, latency, and system performance in cloud infrastructures.
  • Strong understanding of software stack layers, including OS internals and user-mode and kernel-mode drivers.
  • Strong system software performance analysis, testing, and debugging skills.
  • Six or more years of experience in the relevant areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NvMedia or NVIDIA's Video Codec SDK.
  • Experience optimizing video pipelines on multiple GPU families or SoC platforms.
  • Experience with real-time streaming protocols and adaptive bitrate strategies under constrained network conditions.
  • Experience writing or analyzing graphics rendering applications or AI-based graphics generation technologies such as DLSS, RTX, or FSR.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary.
  • Equity.
  • Benefits package.
  • NVIDIA is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive work environment.
