Details
Bloomberg’s Workplace Productivity team builds internal solutions across Microsoft 365, Azure, and Google Workspace for more than 25,000 employees. The team partners closely with product teams to identify business problems, shape solutions, and deliver production-ready services.
As part of the Workplace Productivity team, this role involves building solutions, exploring platform capabilities, and advising internal teams. The engineer will help turn new Microsoft and Google capabilities into secure, governed solutions, while establishing governance and lifecycle management practices that support reliability, security, and alignment with internal standards.
Responsibilities
- Build production services and automation solutions using C#, Python, and PowerShell.
- Develop and operate web and Windows services that integrate with internal systems and platforms.
- Design and implement data protection and compliance solutions for financial institutions.
- Design DLP policies and integrate Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace with third-party security systems.
- Apply governance models for AI agents, including oversight of Model Context Protocol (MCP), security, and compliance controls.
- Improve and harden cloud security postures through least privilege, logging, monitoring, and auditing.
- Manage DevOps pipelines using GitHub for configuration-as-code and automated, scalable deployments.
- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Establish appropriate governance and lifecycle management for rapidly evolving Microsoft and Google technologies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience, specializing in production services and automation solutions using C#, Python, and PowerShell.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Understanding of current AI tooling and governance models.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, including enterprise administration, security, and management.
- Strong proficiency in Azure Entra ID, including identity and access security dependencies, Conditional Access, and Defender for Office 365.
- Experience with Google Workspace administration.
- Familiarity with cloud security posture improvement and hardening concepts.
- Demonstrated experience delivering data protection and compliance solutions.
- Experience managing DevOps pipelines and automated deployments.
- Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert and Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, or equivalent credentials, are welcomed.
- SANS or similar security certifications are welcomed.
