Details
NVIDIA is expanding its autonomous vehicle solution and is seeking a creative and expert Systems Engineer to help productize advanced perception solutions for self-driving cars. You will work with a worldwide team of systems engineers, AI applied researchers, and software engineers to build perception, mapping, and localization solutions while meeting NVIDIA and automotive standards and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop perception, mapping, and localization system requirements from use cases and customer requirements.
- Perform analysis to define performance requirements and allocate performance budgets.
- Plan validation and formulate test cases and critical metrics to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Test performance and triage results.
- Perform detailed analysis and develop dashboards.
- Work closely with hardware engineering, safety, development, and product teams to ensure the right product is built.
- Identify innovative solutions to continuously improve processes.
- Establish relationships with relevant partners across the organization.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of systems engineering experience on complex systems, including systems analysis, error budget creation, scenario modeling, data analysis, and statistical analysis.
- Experience with verification and validation of world model stacks.
- Experience with VLMs, LLMs, and agentic workflows for automated triage.
- Experience defining data strategies.
- Understanding of failure analysis methodologies such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and MTBF decomposition.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive alignment across large organizations.
- Proficiency with SQL and Python or C++.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, machine learning, or computer vision.
- Experience working with large datasets, data science, and analytics.
- Software engineering experience.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range is USD 184,000–287,500 for Level 4 and USD 224,000–356,500 for Level 5. Salary is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The role is also eligible for equity and benefits.
