Details

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Software Engineer to help build NVIDIA Halos, a full-stack safety platform for physical AI applications including autonomous vehicles, humanoids, industrial robots, and intelligent machines. This role sits at the intersection of embedded systems, operating systems, safety, security, virtualization, and accelerated computing.

The role involves working on high-performance NVIDIA edge AI platforms running complex mixed-criticality software stacks across QNX, Linux, hypervisors, safety partitions, accelerators, and real-time AI workloads. You will work alongside ASIC, firmware, OS, safety, security, and platform teams.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, develop, and debug system software for NVIDIA Halos OS across QNX, Linux, and hypervisor-based environments.
  • Design and develop board support packages (BSP), I/O virtualization solutions, boot software, drivers, diagnostics, and platform software for mixed-criticality systems on NVIDIA SoCs and edge AI platforms.
  • Develop safe and secure software aligned with ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 standards, maximizing the use of formal methods.
  • Bring up and optimize next-generation NVIDIA platforms.
  • Use generative AI and AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate debugging, test development, code review, documentation, requirements analysis, and workflow automation.
  • Design debugging, tracing, logging, and performance-analysis solutions that improve developer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science.
  • At least 8 years of experience in system software architecture, developing solutions for complex system problems, and developing software for real-time embedded systems.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and operating system fundamentals.
  • Strong C and/or Ada/SPARK programming and debugging skills.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, documentation, or workflow automation.
  • Hands-on experience with debugging tools, performance analysis, and system analyzer tools.
  • Team-oriented, results-oriented, self-motivated approach with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of embedded systems and real-time operating systems, such as QNX and RT Linux.
  • Understanding of ARM architecture and low-level software development for ARMv8-based SoCs.
  • Hands-on experience with Ada/SPARK programming, including specification and formal verification, and TLA+ formal verification modeling.
  • Background in software development compliant with ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 standards.

Benefits

NVIDIA offers competitive salaries, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
