NVIDIA is looking for a Software Test Engineer to join the NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux Verification Engineering Team. The role involves leading verification of features in NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux and owning tasks including requirements and design reviews, test planning, test execution, and automated test development. The team qualifies Network Operating System software that powers accelerated, disaggregated, and software-defined data centers for AI and high-performance computing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional testing of Layer 2 and Layer 3 features on NVIDIA Networking Spectrum series Ethernet switches running NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux.
  • Write detailed feature and system test plans.
  • Define and design test beds and network topologies.
  • Report issues found during testing in the defect tracking system.
  • Validate fixes and workarounds.
  • Develop automated test suites for NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux features.
  • Build and maintain automation to support continuous functional regression testing.
  • Collaborate with design, test, and other internal engineering groups to identify, report, and resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of proven experience in Software Quality Engineering.
  • Strong technical, problem-solving, design, coding, and debugging skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols such as MLAG, VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP, and EVPN.
  • Experience using test tools from Ixia or Spirent.
  • Experience working with test management tools.
  • Strong skills in Python or other scripting languages.
  • Good experience working with Unix or Linux-based operating systems.
  • Ability to multitask and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive use of AI tools such as Claude or Cursor for code development.
  • Knowledge of performance testing and resolving performance issues.
  • Experience with continuous integration methodologies and tools, including Git, Gerrit, and Jenkins.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range for Level 3: USD 152,000–241,500 per year.
  • Base salary range for Level 4: USD 184,000–287,500 per year.
  • Compensation is determined based on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
  • Eligible employees may receive equity and benefits.
