Details
NVIDIA is looking for a Software Test Engineer to join the NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux Verification Engineering Team. The role involves leading verification of features and platforms for NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux, including requirements and design reviews, test planning, test execution, and automated test development. The team qualifies Network Operating System software powering accelerated, disaggregated, and software-defined data centers for AI and high-performance computing.
Responsibilities
- Bring up new platforms that are part of the Spectrum series Ethernet Switch Systems.
- Functionally test Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 features of NVIDIA-Mellanox Spectrum series Ethernet Switch systems running NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux.
- Understand new platform components and write detailed feature and system test plans.
- Define and design test beds and network topologies.
- Report issues found during testing in the defect tracking system and validate fixes and workarounds.
- Develop automated test suites for different NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux features.
- Build and maintain automation for continuous functional regression testing.
- Collaborate with design, test, and other internal engineering groups to identify, report, and resolve testing issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8 or more years of experience in Software Quality Engineering.
- Strong technical, problem-solving, design, coding, and debugging skills.
- Hands-on experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing features.
- Hands-on experience with switch platforms or ASIC features, firmware, and upgrades.
- Expertise in CPLD, BIOS, Secure Boot, and SSD testing.
- Experience using Ixia or Spirent test tools and test management tools.
- Expertise in telemetry features.
- Strong skills in Python or other scripting languages.
- Experience working with Unix or Linux-based operating systems and a solid understanding of software engineering practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of performance testing and troubleshooting performance issues.
- Expertise in BMC (Baseboard Management Control), liquid cooling systems, thermal algorithms, and optics.
- Experience with CI methodologies and tools such as Git, Gerrit, and Jenkins.
Compensation And Benefits
The base salary range is USD 184,000–287,500 for Level 4 and USD 224,000–356,500 for Level 5. The role also includes eligibility for equity and benefits. Applications will be accepted at least until August 7, 2026.
