Details

Reddit is seeking a generalist mid-level backend engineer to join the Ads Organization. The team builds systems that power Reddit's advertiser-facing products, ad delivery, interactive ad experiences, campaign measurement, and supporting infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Work with product managers to design and implement Ads products.
Collaborate closely with platform and data teams while building new features.
Improve operational stability through code-quality improvements, dashboards, and data visualizations.
Build extensible components aligned with product objectives.
Support day-to-day project management, including communicating project updates, managing project timelines, and overseeing project execution.
Work on microservices and APIs for the advertiser-facing product, ads.reddit.com.
Build distributed systems that deliver the right ad to the right user at the right time.
Develop backends for interactive ad experiences such as Polls and Games.
Work on real-time, data-intensive systems that measure advertising campaign performance.
Contribute to the infrastructure supporting these systems.

Requirements

3+ years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, Scala, Go, C++, or Python.
Ability to take complete ownership of a feature or project.
Ability to code independently while working with senior engineers on complex solution design.
Coachability and eagerness to grow.
Strong passion for coding and excellent independent learning skills.
Ability to operate as a fully functioning member of an engineering team.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience working in the advertising domain.
Experience or interest in the advertising business and understanding customer needs.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $164,200–$229,900 USD. The role is also eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units and, depending on the position offered, may be eligible for a commission. Final offers may vary based on skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses or credentials.

Reddit has a flexible workforce. Employees who live near a physical office may work from the office as often as they like, while candidates may work remotely in any country where Reddit has a physical presence.
