Glean is looking for creative engineers to launch beautiful, smooth user-facing features from within a modern React and TypeScript codebase. In a rapidly growing startup, this involves developing ideas with product designers, balancing constraints with requirements, delivering best-in-class user interfaces for modern mobile and desktop browsers, and creating frontend infrastructure that supports rapid experimentation and development.

Responsibilities

• Build delightful user interfaces with React.js in collaboration with product designers and backend engineers.
• Oversee features from inception to launch and beyond.
• Write robust code that is easy to read, maintain, and test.
• Push the boundaries of platform constraints to integrate an instant Glean experience into every workflow.
• Mentor more junior engineers and learn from experienced engineers.

Requirements

• BA/BS in computer science or a related degree.
• Experience with a highly polished, consumer-grade React.js application, or 4+ years of experience with any web application.
• Ability to thrive in a customer-focused, tight-knit, and cross-functional environment.
• A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to lead, learn, troubleshoot, and take ownership of both small tasks and large features.
• Passion for using open web technologies, including HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript, to build pixel-perfect, zero-latency, 60 FPS user interfaces that run on all devices.
• Comfortable with TypeScript, or experienced with JavaScript and interested in adopting types.
• Experience with or desire to master one or more of the following: Progressive Web Apps (PWA), Web Extensions, Electron, Capacitor, React, Redux, and Webpack.

Location

• Hybrid role requiring three days per week in either the San Francisco or Palo Alto office.

Compensation & Benefits

• Standard base salary range: $115,000–$260,000 annually.
