Your primary focus will be to design practical and effective user experiences for Grafana’s Incident Response & Management (IRM) solutions. These products make it easy for teams of engineers, SREs, and their agents to detect, respond to, and learn from incidents with minimal toil, across a variety of touchpoints including desktop and mobile web, native mobile, Slack, Teams, MCP integrations, and agentic harnesses like Claude Code and Codex.
Responsibilities
- Work with peers and leaders across engineering, product management, technical writing, go-to-market, and product design to iterate on and improve the products
- Document user needs and pain points, design directions, trade-offs, and detailed designs using product design and visual communication tools, including agentic tooling such as Figma Make, Cursor, and Claude Code where it adds value
- Work with researchers, cross-functional collaborators, and lead customers such as members of the Customer Advisory Board (CAB) and Design Partnership Program (DPP) to plan and execute formative and evaluative research initiatives
- Provide pragmatic, cohesive, and highly scalable design solutions that balance business, customer, and user needs
- Over time, develop deep expertise in your product area and the associated customer/user personas, use cases, and workflows
- Contribute to the evolution of the Product Design team by coaching and mentoring other designers and collaborating on team internal initiatives and ways of working
- Help scale the team’s impact on customers, users, and business, and work with the rest of Product Design to bring Grafana Labs’ products into the new age of agentic workflows
Requirements
- Experience designing for developers, SREs, and other highly technical users
- A portfolio of well-articulated design work that moved the needle on specific business goals, metrics, or KPIs for complex and data-rich dev tooling and/or enterprise SaaS products
- Ability to balance business goals, product priorities, customer feedback, research insights, and technical considerations when making design decisions
- Ability to deliver pragmatic, cohesive, and scalable design solutions in a fast-paced environment where industry standards evolve
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time-zones
- Experience working in a fully-remote, fast-paced environment with expectations to share openly, default to transparency, and embrace autonomy
- A deep desire to seek diverse perspectives, aim for progress over perfection, follow through on commitments, support peers, and mentor new hires
Bonus points
- Experience designing developer or SRE tools for critical cloud infrastructure, security, or other high-stress use cases
- Experience designing cross-platform experiences for developer tools across touchpoints including web, desktop, mobile, CLI, API, and MCP integrations, plus agentic harnesses
- An understanding of incident response scenarios/practices related to observability, cloud infrastructure, database monitoring, cyber security, or similar domains
