Details

Grafana Labs is hiring for a remote Staff AI Engineer to join a skunkworks initiative (2H) focused on bringing observability and general data analytics to the rest of the business. The team builds AI-driven features and agentic workflows to help users discover, organize, and act on large, messy enterprise datasets. This role is remote and Grafana Labs is considering candidates in Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Spain, and the United Kingdom only.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver AI solutions: own development of high-performance AI features to help users discover, organize, and optimize access to large datasets.
  • Rapid experimentation and iteration: prototype, test, validate with real users, and ship LLM- or agent-powered workflows for the data engineering lifecycle.
  • Collaborate: shape AI-driven product features and integrate agentic components with internal tools like Slack and alerting systems; engage with internal data teams for dogfooding.
  • Utilize AI tools effectively: use AI and automation tools to enhance product functionality and development workflows.
  • Communicate effectively in a dynamic, collaborative environment and contribute across teams.
  • Take ownership: ensure AI solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with real user workflows.

Requirements

  • Experience with LLMs, context engineering, and building applications powered by generative AI.
  • Proven track record of delivering software to production that is actively used by users.
  • Exposure to cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience using observability tools to understand and troubleshoot system behavior.
  • Strong software engineering skills and the ability to make UI design decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable with rapid iteration, prototyping, and collecting user feedback.

Bonus Points

  • Experience building or working with agent frameworks or multi-agent workflows.
  • Experience as a data analyst or working with data platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Experience building tools for data engineering.

Compensation & Rewards

  • Sweden base compensation range: SEK 878,000 - SEK 1,100,000 (actual compensation may vary by level, experience, and skillset). Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable), and other benefits listed by Grafana Labs.

Why You’ll Thrive at Grafana Labs

  • 100% remote company with a global culture and opportunities for meaningful, high-impact work.
  • Transparent communication, open-source roots, empowered teams, in-person onboarding, and a generous annual leave policy.

Other Notes

  • Grafana Labs may utilize AI tools in its recruitment process to assist with CV matching; recruitment team continues to review CVs manually.
  • Grafana Labs is an equal opportunity employer.
