Details

Reddit is seeking a Staff Operations Program Manager (IC5) to serve as the strategic architect and operations lead for its central data labeling function. This high-visibility, 0-to-1 role partners with product and technical teams across the company to determine requirements and execute them through a centralized function.

The role focuses on translating complex, unstructured product needs into scalable labeling directives for vendor teams while helping define automated, LLM-based labeling capabilities. The function supports models, taxonomies, product experiments, Ads, and Consumer Product organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Own and scale the strategic intake process across Consumer and Ads, ensuring robust delivery frameworks and prioritization based on agreed criteria and business impact.
  • Shape the growth of the central labeling function and execute the operational roadmap for integrating LLM-assisted labeling workflows with human vendor operations.
  • Standardize taxonomy definition guidelines and operationalize complex, multi-quarter labeling projects supporting Consumer product experiments and Ads safety systems.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Operations Leaders to align labeling capabilities with business objectives and translate high-level concepts into executable human and machine tasks.
  • Partner with the Vendor Manager to provide clear task guidelines, resolve complex edge cases, and establish feedback loops that align task performance with product expectations.
  • Build, document, and standardize centralized request intake models, SLA frameworks, quality assurance practices, and throughput metrics across labeling domains.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data operations, program management, or vendor operations, with a strong focus on data labeling, model training data, or taxonomy infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to align Product and Engineering leadership, set firm boundaries, and enforce structured prioritization.
  • Exceptional ability to translate vague product requirements into detailed, unambiguous labeling instructions, edge-case trees, and taxonomy classification schemas.
  • Experience using LLMs, synthetic data generation, or automated tooling to augment traditional vendor annotation workflows and scale operational capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal Vendor Operations teams and Managers to translate project requirements into executable guidelines and handle task-level escalations.
  • Experience working across Ads or Monetization and consumer-facing product organizations is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data manipulation to independently analyze vendor quality metrics, pipeline throughput, and project completion SLAs is preferred.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits and income replacement programs.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Global benefit programs supporting workspace, professional development, and caregiving.
  • Family planning support.
  • Gender-affirming care.
  • Mental health and coaching benefits.
  • Flexible vacation and paid volunteer time off.
  • Generous paid parental leave.
  • Eligibility for equity in the form of restricted stock units and, depending on the position offered, possible commission eligibility.
  • U.S.-based employees receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) program with employer match, vacation time, and parental leave.

The role is completely remote-friendly within the United States. Reddit office locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago are available for employees who live nearby. Interviews may be recorded, transcribed, and summarized by artificial intelligence, with an option to opt out before scheduled interviews.
