Details

Anthropic's Verticals team builds AI products purpose-built for financial services, science, healthcare, and enterprise workflows. The teams are building many products from 0 to 1, while other products are already live with enterprise customers and expanding.

The role involves building products that bring Claude into financial services, science, healthcare, and enterprise AI workflows. The engineer will provide technical leadership across the end-to-end customer experience, partner with research to bring model capabilities into production, and own the technical direction and delivery of core product areas.

Responsibilities

Own the technical design and delivery of a core component of a vertical or enterprise product across the full stack.
Work closely with research to improve models in the relevant domain by shaping evaluations, identifying failure modes, and sharing customer learnings with model development teams.
Partner with product, design, and go-to-market teams to turn enterprise customer workflows into shipped products.
Set technical direction and standards for architecture, code quality, and team development practices.
Work directly with enterprise customers and sales during key conversations, translating customer insights into engineering priorities.
Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the team through influence rather than authority.

Requirements

8+ years of software engineering experience, ideally including 2+ years at Staff or an equivalent technical leadership level.
Experience leading the design and delivery of complex enterprise or B2B products across the full stack.
Experience building AI products and turning model capabilities into applications that people use.
Comfort working directly with enterprise customers and translating customer feedback into technical decisions.
Experience building products from 0 to 1 in fast-moving environments.
Ability to set technical direction with limited precedent and drive cross-team alignment.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
A field of study relevant to the role, as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Strong candidates may also have experience working with research to improve domain-specific model capabilities, including evaluation frameworks; domain knowledge in financial services, scientific research, computational biology, healthcare, or enterprise platforms; and exposure to both product-led growth and direct enterprise sales.
