Staff Technical Program Manager, Infrastructure

Reddit's Infrastructure organization builds and delivers the compute orchestration environment, storage and data systems, and essential platform services behind Reddit. Its portfolio spans Compute, Storage, Messaging, Transport, Core Platform, Ranking Platform, SRE, Security, Compliance, and other infrastructure areas.

This role will drive complex, multi-team infrastructure programs, including cluster migrations, storage modernization, Kafka client rollouts, intent-based compute environments, ML serving on GPUs, and multi-region serving initiatives across more than 30 platform teams. The position requires strong technical program management skills and broad technical knowledge across Reddit's infrastructure stack.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive programs across Compute, Storage, Messaging, Transport, Core Platform, Ranking Platform, Security, and Compliance.
• Lead large-scale migrations, tooling modernization, and platform evolution initiatives.
• Plan and execute complex, multi-team programs with multiple milestones, dependencies, and risks.
• Partner with engineering teams as a technical peer and provide technical judgment during planning and decision-making.
• Drive programs to completion and deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Understand program details and actively guide teams through execution.
• Create and improve repeatable processes that reduce organizational toil and promote standards adoption.
• Use AI and LLM-assisted tooling to automate reporting, improve cost anomaly detection, accelerate data analysis, and enhance program management workflows.
• Mentor colleagues and support the development of program and organizational skills.
• Improve program organization and enable teams to continue succeeding after program involvement ends.
• Balance risk across frontend, backend, and revenue-producing teams while keeping execution aligned with Reddit's long-term infrastructure strategy.

Requirements

• 8+ years of combined experience in engineering and program management roles.
• Strong technical depth and judgment across Kubernetes orchestration, storage engines, messaging systems such as Kafka, ML serving infrastructure, deployment pipelines, CDN and traffic management, and data platform architectures.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD systems, observability platforms, and container orchestration.
• Strong technical program management skills, including scoping, scheduling, and driving long-term programs across multiple teams.
• Proven experience leading large-scale migrations and deprecations in cloud infrastructure environments.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to present cost narratives to Finance leadership and engineering directors.
• Experience with observability and data platforms such as Grafana, BigQuery, Hex, Looker, or similar tools for cost reporting and alerting.
• Demonstrated experience using AI or LLM tooling to improve program management workflows, automate reporting, or enhance engineering productivity.

Compensation

The base salary range is $194,600–$272,400 USD. The position is also eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units and, depending on the position offered, may be eligible for a commission.
