Details
Reddit is seeking a senior backend software engineer to help build the app conversion signals that power Reddit’s app advertising business. The role focuses on MMP integrations, SKAN processing, and App CAPI to make app installs and in-app events more reliable, useful, and easier for advertisers to integrate.
Advertisers depend on conversion signals to understand campaign performance and guide investment. The work will improve the systems and diagnostics that make app signals usable for measurement and downstream advertising systems.
Responsibilities
- Own backend projects across MMP, SKAN, and App CAPI, from requirements and design through implementation, rollout, and ongoing operation.
- Build scalable ingestion and processing services with clear contracts, validation, deduplication, failure recovery, and data lineage.
- Develop integration tooling and diagnostics that help advertisers and partners identify and resolve signal delivery problems.
- Analyze signal quality and delivery metrics, investigate discrepancies, and prioritize improvements with product and data science partners.
- Work with partner engineering teams and downstream consumers to evolve schemas and integrations without disrupting existing advertisers.
- Incorporate privacy and security requirements into system design and maintain controls throughout the data lifecycle.
- Raise engineering quality through testing, design reviews, incident learning, and mentorship.
Requirements
- Demonstrated senior-level backend software engineering experience delivering and operating scalable production systems.
- Hands-on app advertising signals or mobile measurement experience, with depth in MMP integrations, SKAN, or app conversion APIs.
- Strong programming, API design, distributed systems, and SQL skills, supported by independent problem solving and data investigation.
- Clear communication skills and a record of delivering results with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Benefits
- 100% remote opportunity, with four office locations for hybrid or onsite work preferences in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
- Comprehensive healthcare benefits and income replacement programs.
- 401(k) with employer match.
- Global benefit programs covering workspace, professional development, caregiving support, and other needs.
- Family planning support.
- Gender-affirming care.
- Mental health and coaching benefits.
- Flexible vacation and paid volunteer time off.
- Generous paid parental leave.
