Who We Are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Stripe’s mission is to increase the GDP of the internet.

About the Team

Stripe is looking for a senior product strategist-operator to join the Strategic Business Performance (SBP) team. SBP is the “connective tissue” of Stripe, providing visibility into how the company operates and helping ensure that it achieves its most important goals.

SBP is a small, high-leverage group within Central Strategy & Operations. Its mission is to create strategic clarity around Stripe’s performance by reporting on the business, pressure-testing strategy, driving change, and enabling the success of other teams.

The team is looking for someone who connects data, financials, and product and business strategy; can identify meaningful signals in complex information; and can either fix problems directly or bring together the right people to resolve them quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Own the signal: Define and maintain the metrics that matter for in-year performance. Develop a curated, high-signal “morning read” of the business that drives immediate action beyond standard dashboarding.
  • Lead deep-dive interventions: Lead “surge” projects to diagnose and unblock critical goals at risk, remaining involved until the trajectory has measurably changed.
  • Bridge product and strategy: Translate long-horizon corporate theses into in-year operational reality. Decompose ambiguous opportunities spanning product, risk, and marketing into structured workstreams.
  • Synthesize information for leadership: Prepare CEO- and COO-level materials that translate unstructured signals into structured diagnoses and actionable recommendations.
  • Pressure-test assumptions: Work closely with Corporate Strategy and Product teams to identify gaps between external market forces and internal execution.
  • Work cross-functionally within the SBP group and across Stripe’s technical and user-facing teams to solve problems and design workflows that benefit users.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in product or data analytics within product organizations or strategic business performance teams at high-growth technology companies.
  • Experience in Product Strategy, Product Management, or GM-style roles with ownership of a P&L or specific business outcome.
  • Deep curiosity about business models and data, with the ability to investigate signals, understand trends and customer usage patterns, and uncover novel insights.
  • Proven track record of directly driving business growth through analytical insights and execution.
  • Ability to apply AI to improve decision-making and operational efficiency, selecting appropriate AI tools without sacrificing rigor or quality.
  • Strong product sense and ability to understand the technical mechanics of how software products are built and scaled.
  • Experience navigating ambiguous, cross-functional problems and leading high-stakes interventions with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating senior leadership and stakeholder meetings to drive meaningful conversations about business performance.
  • Prior experience with fintech products or complex financial systems is a plus but is not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the payments ecosystem or in finance or fintech.
  • Ability to build trust and partner with senior leaders and C-suite executives.
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, or R, along with data analysis skills and the ability to independently conduct deep dives into complex datasets.
  • Experience driving creative solutions and informing the roadmaps of cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to understand the implications of Stripe product releases, policy changes, and marketing outreach on the user experience and resulting support experience.
