Bloomberg’s Office of the CTO is the forward-looking technical arm of Bloomberg L.P. The Security Services Architecture team, part of the CTO Infrastructure group, solves complex security problems and prototypes the next generation of infrastructure security technologies. The team designs security controls, threat models distributed systems, and defines the future of infrastructure security.

As a Technical Product Owner, you will influence the roadmap for future security technologies while working with engineers across the company. The role focuses on Bloomberg’s security data strategy, including the technologies, platforms, and operating models used to inventory systems, detect and investigate cyber threats, and measure and remediate security issues.

Key areas include a security data platform that transforms petabytes of structured and unstructured data—including text, time series, and events—into machine-readable knowledge for security applications, as well as a security asset inventory that unifies data from dozens of disparate systems. You will also help define Bloomberg’s strategy for applying artificial intelligence to security data.

Responsibilities

• Develop the long-term vision and roadmaps for Bloomberg’s security data products.
• Contribute to the long-term strategy for security visibility at Bloomberg and take a leadership role in delivering that vision.
• Work with partners across the company to understand data technologies and telemetry capabilities.
• Meet with end users to understand their workflows and technical requirements using your security expertise.
• Prioritize and plan work, make decisions, ask the right questions, and manage resources effectively.
• Build consensus and manage through influence in a cross-functional environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and/or managing security and/or data products and tooling.
• Understanding of the day-to-day functions of security operations, threat and vulnerability management, and product security teams, including visibility challenges in large enterprise environments.
• Strong technical background, including familiarity with data science, analytics, and their application to security.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work across departments, build trust with peers and executives, and navigate organizational dynamics.
• Hands-on, teamwork-oriented approach focused on building consensus and managing through influence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Breadth of knowledge in big data, SIEM, federated search, and related areas.
• Understanding of security data types, including endpoint, network, reference, and time-series data, and their value to security programs.
• Strong analytical writing skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas and create and present documentation and management reports.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and divide focus among multiple projects.
• Prior experience as a technical product manager or engineering technical lead.

The annual salary range is USD 240,000–330,000, plus benefits and bonus.
