Details
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Developer Experience & Product Platform organization provides a shared product platform for consistent experiences across Stripe's user interface and API surfaces.
The Extensibility program enables Stripe customers and product teams to adapt Stripe through a common programmable platform. Its three interconnected primitives are Scripts, Custom Objects, and Workflows. These primitives involve more than 10 cross-functional teams and support a flagship product launch.
Responsibilities
- Drive the Extensibility program across the Workflows, Custom Objects, and Scripts workstreams.
- Set program strategy in partnership with Developer Experience & Product Platform leadership and hold organizations accountable for program outcomes.
- Drive cross-organizational decisions across Script Platform, Custom Objects, Apps, SDK, Observability, Developer Experience, and Versioning teams.
- Resolve ambiguous integration and ownership questions across team boundaries.
- Own the critical path to major launches, shape scope, drive descope decisions, and negotiate cross-team trade-offs.
- Influence product and engineering roadmaps by bringing a program-level perspective to team planning cycles.
- Advocate for cross-cutting investments that individual teams may not prioritize independently.
- Ensure ProServ and Partnerships requirements are incorporated into the roadmap with the same rigor as product requirements.
- Maintain alignment between platform capabilities and the needs of teams serving complex customers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical program management experience with demonstrated success driving complex cross-organizational programs.
- Strong product sense and the ability to understand enterprise customer needs.
- Ability to communicate with precision and credibility across engineering, product, and executive audiences.
- Ability to translate complex technical trade-offs into strategic decisions and drive alignment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and align cross-functional teams, drive decisions, resolve conflict, and build consensus across organizations with competing priorities.
- Proven track record of successful program delivery in complex technical environments.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in product management or product operations.
- Experience with developer platforms, API products, or payment systems.
Platform Technologies
- Scripts: a secure, isolated TypeScript runtime for customizing Stripe product behavior.
- Custom Objects: user-defined data models with APIs, SDKs, and Dashboard experiences.
- Workflows: a programmable orchestration layer supporting no-code and pro-code business logic, custom actions, delays, smart retries, and third-party integrations.
