SpaceXAI is seeking a skilled AI Legal and Compliance Data Specialist to enhance AI models by providing high-quality data annotations and inputs tailored to legal and compliance contexts. The role involves applying expertise in regulatory compliance, contract analysis, legal research, and dispute resolution to support AI training. The successful candidate will collaborate with technical teams to refine annotation tools and curate impactful data that helps models capture real-world legal and compliance dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Use proprietary software to provide accurate input and labels for legal and compliance projects, ensuring high-quality data for AI model training.
  • Deliver curated data for scenarios involving regulatory compliance, contract analysis, legal research, and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to support the training of new AI tasks and contribute to innovative technologies.
  • Assist in designing and improving annotation tools tailored to legal and compliance data.
  • Select and analyze complex legal and compliance problems aligned with your expertise to enhance AI model performance.
  • Interpret, analyze, and execute tasks based on evolving instructions while maintaining precision and adaptability.

Requirements

  • J.D. (Juris Doctor) or foreign equivalent.
  • At least two years of practicing law in one or more of the following areas: Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Torts, International Law, Health Law, Civil Rights Law, Constitutional Law, Construction Law, Education Law, Employment and Labor Law, Environmental Law, Corporate Law, Business Law, Family Law, Immigration Law, Intellectual Property Law, Patent Law, Real Estate Law, Tax Law, Bankruptcy Law, Administrative Law, Antitrust Law, Privacy and Data Protection Law, Cybersecurity Law, or Energy Law.
  • Strong legal analysis and writing skills, including the ability to draft clear, concise, and well-reasoned legal documents and memoranda.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing informal and professional English.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent reading comprehension and the ability to exercise autonomous judgment with limited data.
  • Passion for technological advancements and innovation in legal processes.
  • Relevant certification, license, or advanced training, such as bar admission or similar legal certification.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience mentoring or training others in legal practices.
  • Comfort recording audio or video sessions for data collection.
  • Familiarity with AI or data annotation workflows in a technical setting.

Work Arrangements

  • Tutor roles may be full-time, part-time, or contractor positions, depending on role needs and candidate fit.
  • Contractor hours vary based on project scope and availability. Most projects may involve at least 10 hours per week on average, although there are no fixed commitments. Contractors can set their own hours and determine the time required to complete deliverables.
  • Roles may be performed remotely from any location worldwide, subject to legal eligibility, time-zone compatibility, and role-specific needs.
  • US-based candidates cannot be hired in Wyoming or Illinois at this time.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Personal devices must be a Chromebook, a Mac running macOS 11.0 or later, or a computer running Windows 10 or later.

Compensation and Benefits

  • US-based candidates: $50–$100 per hour, depending on relevant experience, skills, education, geographic location, and qualifications.
  • International candidates will receive compensation information during the recruitment process.
  • Benefits vary by employment type, location, and jurisdiction. Eligible US-based positions may include health insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave.
