Details
Anthropic is seeking a strategic communications professional to drive external storytelling for the engineering and infrastructure work behind serving Claude. This role will partner with teams responsible for how Claude performs in production, including capacity, reliability, and engineering, and will translate technical topics for developers, customers, and the press.
Responsibilities
- Own external communications for Claude's inference and reliability story across launches, milestones, and ongoing updates
- Carry both high-altitude narrative and the technical translation that makes engineering work credible
- Develop messaging frameworks for technical topics that need to land with developers, customers, and press without losing substance
- Lead communications when a technical or engineering issue requires a coordinated cross-functional response
- Partner closely with product teams on decisions that impact users and the brand, bringing communications considerations in early
- Coach engineering and product leaders to be effective spokespeople for press, podcasts, panels, and other engagements
- Anticipate how messaging will land across audiences and channels and adjust strategy accordingly
Requirements
- 8–12 years of experience in communications focused on infrastructure, engineering, or technical products
- Highly online and fluent in where technical conversations happen (developer forums, X, Hacker News)
- Genuine curiosity about how customers experience performance, capacity, and reliability
- Strong writing discipline and accuracy around complex technical concepts and sensitive topics
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- Required field of study: a field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
- Demonstrated experience developing messaging frameworks, handling reactive communications for engineering issues, and coaching technical leaders
Logistics
- Locations: New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA
- Location-based hybrid policy: expected to be in one of Anthropic's offices at least 25% of the time
- Minimum years of experience: will correlate with internal job level requirements for the position
- Visa sponsorship: Anthropic states they do sponsor visas and retain an immigration lawyer to assist, though sponsorship is not guaranteed for every role/candidate
Compensation
- Annual salary range: $255,000 - $320,000 USD
