Lead the data and AI revolution at ABN AMRO's Central Data Office (CDO), helping unlock the value of data and AI for customers. As part of the Data & AI Strategy & Design team, you will shape strategic direction, develop new concepts, and drive complex bank-wide initiatives at the intersection of data, AI, regulation, and business strategy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and further develop the bank-wide Data & AI Strategy.
• Shape strategic direction and state of the art on topics including:
  • Unstructured data management, such as documents, text, voice, and images.
  • AI-ready data, including data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance-by-design.
  • AI technologies, with a strong focus on their potential and responsible usage.
• Define operating models, roles, and responsibilities to translate strategy into execution.
• Identify and assess external trends and internal drivers for change, including developments in AI, data regulation, and technology.
• Act as a trusted sparring partner for the Head of Data & AI Governance, the Chief Data Officer, and senior leadership.
• Lead and support transformational initiatives, such as Federated Data Governance.
• Translate strategic recommendations into concrete actions, roadmaps, and decisions, and ensure follow-through to implementation.
• Prepare and support executive decision-making for the Executive Board and Supervisory Board.

Working Environment

You will work within the Central Data Office's Data and AI Governance Strategy & Design team, collaborating closely with other CDO teams, IT teams, data domains, business lines, international branches, and subsidiaries. The team works on critical data and AI initiatives in banking in an open, transparent, diverse, and informal environment.

Requirements

• Master's degree.
• Proven experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Analytics, and/or AI.
• Strong consulting background, with experience advising senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide data or AI initiatives.
• Familiarity with frameworks and regulations such as DAMA-DMBOK, Data Mesh, BCBS 239, and the AI Act, or similar frameworks and regulations.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and communication skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to learn new topics quickly and form clear, balanced strategic opinions for executive audiences.
• Ability to connect external trends to the internal context of ABN AMRO.
• Ability to navigate organisational complexity and tailor solutions to different stakeholders and maturity levels.
• Execution-oriented approach, with the ability to turn recommendations into action and ensure implementation follow-through.
