Are you a Data Analyst fascinated by the financial sector and interested in banking products and transaction data? The BI & Analytics Center of Expertise is looking for a Data Analyst to help use data for strategic, regulatory, operational, and tactical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Act as a data sparring partner for business stakeholders on smart KPIs and reports, providing relevant insights for the right audience.
• Understand underlying processes for different products and services and connect the dots.
• Lead projects as an individual contributor and collaborate with multiple analysts.
• Participate in complex, long-term projects with a focus on continuous delivery in small increments.
• Extract actionable insights from large data sources and perform recurring or ad hoc analyses and reporting.
• Conduct data research and analytics on datasets involving products, transactions, channels, customers, and CRM or sales.
• Develop data science skills by collaborating with the Advanced Analytics & AI Center of Expertise on experiments and proof-of-concepts.
• Translate business questions into valuable Advanced Analytics and AI use cases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage different stakeholders.
• Communicate insights through storytelling with numbers and effective data visualization.
• Organize work in a structured manner and communicate effectively with all involved parties.
• Improve and automate existing deliverables continuously.
• Investigate challenges in depth, question the status quo, and proactively propose solutions to technical, business, and data-related problems.

Working Environment

The role is part of the Transaction Banking Data Domain within the Transaction Banking Value Stream. The domain covers accounts, payment cards, packages, savings, insurances, open banking APIs, trade finance, digital products such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, and related sales, business, and risk management processes.

The Transaction Banking Data Domain includes:

• The BI & Analytics Center of Expertise, responsible for BI, reporting, and data analytics.
• The Advanced Analytics & AI Center of Expertise, responsible for data science and the portfolio of Advanced Analytics and AI use cases.
• The Data Products Center of Expertise, responsible for data products, data stewardship, and data management.
• A cloud-based data and analytics platform with the Transaction Banking Domain Data Store.

The teams apply analytics and emerging technologies such as GenAI to generate insights, monitor and improve product performance, forecast product usage, and support customer satisfaction and vendor relations. The domain also supports data-driven decision-making and data maturity across the bank.

The team consists of more than 40 members based across the Netherlands and India. It follows agile principles and works across departments and functions with business experts, business developers, product owners, senior employees, and leaders.

Requirements

• A degree in STEM or economics/business with an analytics focus.
• At least 3 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in a data or analytical field.
• Experience with programming languages such as SQL and Python.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Initial experience with Advanced Analytics and AI, including forecasting, prediction, cluster analysis, machine learning, and GenAI.
• Strong analytical, communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
• Experience with Azure, Databricks, or similar cloud platforms is an advantage.
• Knowledge of agile methodology and the ability to manage multiple priorities is an advantage.
• Understanding of data warehouse concepts and data modelling techniques is an advantage.
• Knowledge of the financial sector and/or banking products is an advantage.
• Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) certification is an advantage.
• Databricks Certified Data Analyst certification is an advantage.
