Role Overview

The AMER EMSX Trade Desk provides real-time support for Bloomberg's electronic trading platform, which is used by institutional trading clients across equities, options, and futures markets. The role supports traders and clients by resolving trading and workflow issues, answering product questions, and helping clients use Bloomberg's Execution Management System (EMSX).

This position operates in a fast-paced, real-time trading environment where communication, sound judgment, and attention to detail are essential. The specialist will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, Implementation, brokers, exchanges, and global support teams to investigate issues, improve client workflows, and contribute to the evolution of Bloomberg's products and support model.

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time support for clients using Bloomberg's EMSX platform across the AMER region.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to order routing, executions, allocations, connectivity, and electronic trading workflows.
  • Partner with clients, brokers, Product, Engineering, Sales, Implementation, and global support teams to resolve workflow and trading-related issues.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders, particularly during time-sensitive trading situations.
  • Prioritize multiple client requests while exercising sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Monitor trading activity to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve client workflows.
  • Escalate complex product or technical issues with clear documentation and appropriate business context.
  • Become a subject matter expert in Bloomberg's EMSX platform, electronic trading workflows, and client use cases.
  • Contribute to process improvements, knowledge sharing, team documentation, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve team efficiency through automation, AI-enabled solutions, and continuous process improvements.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-first environment by sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting traders, institutional clients, brokers, or front-office users.
  • Experience working in electronic trading, trade support, trade operations, brokerage operations, or a trading desk environment.
  • Knowledge of equities, options, futures, or other financial markets.
  • Familiarity with execution management systems (EMS), order management systems (OMS), or electronic trading platforms.
  • Exposure to FIX Protocol, order routing, execution workflows, or broker connectivity.
  • Experience using Python, SQL, JavaScript, VBA, or similar tools to automate workflows or analyze data.
  • Experience working with APIs, logs, trade data, or technical troubleshooting.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI and automation, and interest in improving team processes.
