Details

Stripe is building new APIs and integration experiences for agentic commerce. The Agentic Payments team is developing experiences that enable AI agents to create online commerce experiences through Stripe integrations, including new API primitives, dashboard surfaces, and simplified financial and e-commerce functionality.

Responsibilities

Build full-stack solutions across Stripe's ecosystem, including backend services, dashboard interfaces, money movement systems, and integrations with other Stripe primitives.
Partner closely with product management and design to ship high-impact features that increase user autonomy and reduce friction.
Apply strong analytical skills to analyze data, test hypotheses, make informed trade-offs, and establish success metrics.
Ensure solutions are enterprise-grade and meet Stripe's reliability SLOs quickly.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Stripe's platform and product teams to integrate agentic commerce capabilities.
Engage directly with users, particularly large enterprises, to understand business needs and translate requirements into novel product designs.
Coach and develop senior- and staff-level individual contributors.
Lead initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams and influence technology roadmap planning and execution.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

10+ years of engineering experience and a computer science background with hands-on development expertise.
AI-native mindset and comfort autonomously solving problems with agentic AI tools.
Proven experience coaching and developing senior- and staff-level individual contributors.
Demonstrated experience leading initiatives that affect large engineering organizations across multiple teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to structure ambiguous concepts clearly and from first principles.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving different functions, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
Deep empathy for users, balancing autonomy and guidance in digital commerce experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of engineering management experience.
Experience building APIs or new integration experiences for users, including enterprise-grade solutions.
Experience as a founding team member of a business or startup, taking a product from 0 to 1.
Experience in e-commerce and/or payments.
