Details

Anthropic is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a team building AI-powered cybersecurity products. The team will prototype and ship products that use frontier models to defend code and infrastructure, working across research, product, and go-to-market. The role involves setting technical direction, translating new model capabilities into products, staying close to customers, and scaling the team while preserving a strong prototyping culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the team, including hiring, performance management, and culture development.
  • Stay close to customers, design partners, and the security community, using feedback to guide product development.
  • Own architectural decisions across the full stack, including agentic systems, model orchestration, product surfaces, integrations, and data infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with go-to-market, partnerships, and other product areas.
  • Develop the next layer of leadership within the team.
  • Participate in code, customer calls, design reviews, and research reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience and 4+ years managing engineers.
  • Experience owning a team’s hiring, performance, and technical direction.
  • Experience shipping cybersecurity products in production, such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, application security, threat detection, incident response, or security automation products.
  • Experience taking a team from prototype through first paying customers to scaled deployment.
  • Strong technical and hands-on skills, including participation in design reviews and contribution to code.
  • Strong product instincts and experience helping teams determine what to build.
  • Clear communication skills across research, product, go-to-market, and executive functions.
  • Commitment to responsible and safe AI development.

Preferred Experience

  • Application security, vulnerability research, reverse engineering, incident response, penetration testing, or detection engineering.
  • Building products on large language models, including agentic systems, evaluations, and prompt and model iteration loops.
  • Working in strict data-handling environments, including BYOC, CMEK, regulated industries, or government environments.
  • Experience in both startup and enterprise-scale companies.
  • Translating research capabilities into shipped products.
  • Ecosystem partnerships, MCP, CI/CD, or source-control integrations.

Education and Logistics

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
  • Staff are currently expected to work from one of Anthropic’s offices at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office time.
  • Anthropic sponsors visas and makes reasonable efforts to support visa applications when an offer is made, although sponsorship is not guaranteed for every role or candidate.

Benefits

Anthropic offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and office space for collaboration.
