The Agent Enablement team works across engineering, product, design, and research to bring OpenAI's technology to the world. The team seeks to learn from deployment and broadly distribute the benefits of AI while ensuring that these tools are used responsibly and safely. Its goal is to make innovative tools globally accessible across geographic, economic, and platform barriers.
The team is looking for experienced full-stack engineers to help design and grow an open ecosystem of agent-enabled sites and services. The role involves building user and agent identity protocols, as well as user experiences for controlling and observing agents across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.
Engineers in this role will drive technical decisions while helping steer product and partnership direction, optimizing for short-term impact and the long-term success of the ecosystem. The team values impact-driven, autonomous engineers who are adept at removing barriers to progress.
Responsibilities
- Design the primitives and protocols for an open agent ecosystem, enabling users' agents to make effective use of sites and services across the internet.
- Build a next-generation user experience for observing and controlling agents across web, desktop, and mobile.
- Evolve the approach to token consumption across subscriptions and API customers.
- Execute fast-paced projects in collaboration with research, design, data science, and other product engineering teams.
- Work closely with strategic customers and partners to grow the ecosystem.
Requirements
- Strong full-stack engineering skills and experience shipping customer-facing products from concept through production.
- Comfort working across frontend, backend, APIs, data models, and product design.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and rapidly changing conditions, bringing structure and clarity to high-level ideas.
- A track record of turning high-level ideas into successful outcomes.
- Experience working closely with users and customers and translating feedback into product improvements.
- Familiarity with enterprise software concepts such as identity, permissions, governance, compliance, and billing.
- Enthusiasm for fast-moving zero-to-one environments and an internet-wide vision.
