Details

Saily is looking for a Head of Data to take ownership of the entire data vertical, including data ingestion, modeling, pipelines, analytics, and how teams use data to make decisions. This is a hands-on leadership role managing a team of Data Analysts while owning the technical direction and architecture behind Saily’s data function.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Data function across analytics, modeling, and data pipelines.
  • Lead the Data Analytics team by setting priorities, direction, and operational standards.
  • Own Saily’s data architecture end to end, from raw data and pipelines to analytical models and business insights.
  • Define data models and structures, including schemas, semantic layers, metrics, entities, and relationships.
  • Make data understandable and usable for people and AI.
  • Own and evolve analytics infrastructure and tooling.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other teams to understand their needs and develop a clear data strategy.
  • Act as the main point of contact for data across Saily.
  • Establish standards for data quality, documentation, governance, and reliability.
  • Build and shape the Data team as Saily grows.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience across Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or similar data-focused roles.
  • 4+ years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with data modeling and schema design, including dimensional modeling, semantic layers, metrics, entities, and relationships.
  • Solid understanding of data pipelines and modern data architecture.
  • Excellent SQL skills and experience with modern analytical data stacks.
  • Experience owning a data or analytics function, architecture, or a major part of one.
  • Experience leading Data Analysts or Analytics Engineers, setting priorities, and developing the team.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and business leadership.
  • Strong product and business thinking, with an understanding of how data should influence decisions.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to build from scratch, make decisions with incomplete information, and take ownership beyond an immediate area.
