Details

Saily is removing the hassle of staying connected while traveling through secure mobile data in more than 200 destinations. The Head of Data will own the entire data function, including data analytics, data modeling, and data pipelines. This is a hands-on leadership role involving ownership of the technical direction and architecture behind Saily's data while leading an existing team of Data Analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Data function across analytics, modeling, and data pipelines.
  • Lead the Data Analytics team by setting priorities, direction, and operating standards.
  • Own Saily's end-to-end data architecture, from raw data and pipelines to analytical models and business insights.
  • Define data models and structures, including schemas, semantic layers, metrics, entities, and relationships.
  • Make data easy to understand and use for people and AI.
  • Own and evolve analytics infrastructure and tooling.
  • Work with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other teams to understand their needs and develop a clear data strategy.
  • Act as the main point of contact for data across Saily.
  • Set standards for data quality, documentation, governance, and reliability.
  • Build and develop the Data team as Saily grows.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or similar data-focused roles.
  • 4+ years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with data modeling and schema design, including dimensional modeling, semantic layers, metrics, entities, and relationships.
  • Solid understanding of data pipelines and modern data architecture.
  • Excellent SQL skills and experience with modern analytical data stacks.
  • Experience owning a data or analytics function, architecture, or a major part of one.
  • Experience leading Data Analysts or Analytics Engineers, setting priorities, and developing the team.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and business leadership.
  • Strong product and business thinking, including the ability to understand the meaning and impact of data on decision-making.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort building from scratch, making decisions with incomplete information, and taking ownership.
