Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The team is building tools and platforms that use LLM agents to automate engineering workflows and accelerate engineering productivity across Stripe.

The role focuses on building the next generation of internal AI coding tools and platforms, with an emphasis on safety, engineering productivity, and user needs. The team is distributed across North America and Europe and consists of engineers with strong product perspectives.

Responsibilities

Build internal AI coding tools and platforms to accelerate Stripe's engineering productivity.
Develop tools and platforms used by engineers and internal users.
Write high-quality, well-factored code at high velocity.
Apply algorithms and commonly used data structures to software development.
Collaborate across workstreams and contribute to peers' success.
Represent customer experience and help drive appropriate product outcomes.
Work with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
Use AI developer tooling in day-to-day workflows.

Requirements

Strong software engineering skills.
Two to five years of professional hands-on software development experience.
Experience writing well-factored algorithms and working with commonly used data structures and algorithms.
Hands-on experience building tools or platforms for engineers or internal users.
Strong collaboration skills.
Customer-focused approach and the ability to articulate customer experience in various forums.
Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility.
Experience using AI developer tooling as part of daily workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

Deep curiosity about and strong opinions on the use of AI in software engineering.
Direct experience building coding or other software development tools.
Experience using large datasets to identify user insights and inform product development.
Product engineering experience, with strong attention to detail and an interest in high-quality product experiences.
Experience in developer tooling is a bonus.
