ING Hubs Poland is hiring for a trainee position in the Model Development department. The role focuses on researching and developing advanced credit risk models and innovative methods for estimating ESG and climate risk levels.

Responsibilities

  • Research modelling methods and data for credit, climate, and ESG risk purposes.
  • Analyse and select the most efficient modelling approaches.
  • Prepare code to estimate risk levels.
  • Document analyses and interpret their results.
  • Assist in preparing learning sessions and conference materials.

Requirements

  • Eagerness to learn about credit risk modelling and climate/ESG risk applications across different financial risks.
  • Interest in researching various methods and acquiring knowledge from scientific papers and articles.
  • Proactive approach and willingness to propose new solutions.
  • Willingness to participate in challenging projects involving advanced credit risk models and innovative ESG/climate risk estimation methods.
  • An academic degree in, or pursuit of a degree in, a quantitative field.
  • Sound knowledge of statistical and econometric methods and probability theory.
  • Programming skills in SAS, R, or Python.
  • Some experience with databases, data preparation, and data quality control.
  • English proficiency at B2/C1 level.

Additional Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of credit risk, ESG, and physical or transition climate risk.
  • Knowledge of machine learning methods.
  • FRM or SCR certification, or interest in obtaining one.
  • Ability to use version control systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum.

Team

The Model Development department is responsible for developing risk models at ING. The teams are a centre of excellence for credit risk regulatory and non-regulatory models and work on innovative ESG and climate risk projects and initiatives.

Daily activities follow an Agile approach and Scrum mindset. Employees have broad autonomy, which supports motivation and creativity and enables adaptation to changing business partner requirements.
