Details
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Risk Operations Technology Enablement team partners with Risk product, engineering, and operations teams to shape the technical infrastructure and tooling that prevents bad actors from exploiting Stripe's systems while delivering an exceptional user experience for legitimate users. Its work includes applying AI to reviews, developing agent diagnostic and resolution tools, routing review and support cases, and improving user-facing risk support surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Engineering Program Managers delivering complex technical programs.
- Shape and drive alignment on Risk Operations' technical strategy to support ambitious business goals.
- Partner cross-functionally across Risk Engineering, Product, and Operations to set and execute the technical roadmap.
- Coach Engineering Program Managers by providing regular feedback, setting vision and goals, maintaining high standards, fostering team culture, and leading hiring efforts when relevant.
- Personally drive a small number of critical technical programs when strategic importance, complexity, or ambiguity requires direct senior influence.
- Evolve the team's structure, strategy, functions, and responsibilities to meet changing business needs.
- Promote Stripe's user-centric philosophy and culture of transparency, empathy, inclusion, and empowerment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing program managers who lead complex, cross-functional technical programs.
- Experience partnering directly with Product and Engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle and/or go-to-market.
- Sufficient technical proficiency to clarify architecture, trade-offs, dependencies, and risks, enabling Engineering and Product leaders to make informed technical decisions.
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to digest complex information and make recommendations.
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, teams, and senior leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in financial risk and compliance and/or at comparable technology companies.
