Details

Anthropic is hiring a Technical Program Manager to own the program for delivering Claude models and products to public sector environments. The role coordinates work across research, infrastructure, inference and capacity, cloud partners, safeguards, security, compliance, privacy, and product engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own the program for delivering new Claude models into public sector environments, including sequencing, dependencies, and tradeoffs across research, inference and capacity, cloud partners, safeguards, and compliance teams.
  • Drive FedRAMP and similar authorization programs for Anthropic's public sector offerings in collaboration with privacy, security, compliance, and platform engineering.
  • Plan and sequence work across public sector segments, from model and API availability to application parity and segment-specific product work.
  • Represent public sector requirements in model launch planning alongside launch technical program managers.
  • Establish an operating rhythm with a unified view of workstreams, owners, dependencies, risks, and status, including planning, escalation paths, and launch coordination across organizations.
  • Convert recurring efforts into documented, repeatable processes so that each new segment or model requires less bespoke coordination.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in technical program management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional programs.
  • Experience shipping software or infrastructure into regulated or restricted environments, such as government clouds, air-gapped deployments, FedRAMP, or similar authorization frameworks.
  • Ability to engage meaningfully with infrastructure, machine learning, and security engineers.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple engineering teams and organizations, including research, security, and compliance partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams across distributed teams.
  • Ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous, unstructured environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Experience with public sector, defense, or government cloud programs, or possession of—or eligibility for—a US security clearance, preferred but not required.
  • Interest in safely and reliably bringing AI capabilities to public institutions.
  • Must be a US person due to agreements with the US Government.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $365,000–$435,000 USD.

Work Arrangement and Logistics

  • Location-based hybrid policy: Staff are expected to work from one of Anthropic's offices at least 25% of the time, although some roles may require more office time.
  • Anthropic sponsors visas when possible and makes reasonable efforts to obtain visas for candidates who receive an offer.
  • Anthropic offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and office collaboration space.
