BizTech fosters culture and connection at Airbnb by providing reliable corporate tools, innovative products, and technical support for all teams. The Global Operations team manages production services across Airbnb’s corporate environment, delivering reliable operations through observability, incident management, core operations, and AI-enabled automation.

As an Operations Engineer, you will apply AI to BizTech’s operational health by using LLM-powered triage and intelligent automation to resolve tickets, accelerate incident response, and build self-healing observability. You will prototype agentic workflows, embed AI into runbooks and diagnostics, and automate repetitive operational work. Success is measured through reduced recurring ticket categories, faster MTTR, intelligent alerting, root-cause suggestions, and AI-enhanced dashboards and reporting.

Responsibilities

Manage the ticket queue, prioritize and resolve requests, and identify recurring categories for automation or deflection.
Participate in a rotating on-call and incident response schedule, including weekends, while troubleshooting and documenting issues in real time.
Build and maintain monitoring dashboards using Tableau, Superset, and Grafana to track service health, availability, and data quality.
Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude and Copilot for triage, root-cause analysis, scripting, and documentation, applying hands-on judgment when needed.
Write and maintain automation code in Python, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Bash.
Partner with global stakeholder teams to drive issues to resolution.

Requirements

3+ years of experience with observability and metrics tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and ElasticSearch.
3+ years of experience with data querying and pipelines, including SQL, Airflow, Trino, and SQS.
Working knowledge of network fundamentals and hardware, including Cisco and Palo Alto.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD and automation tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions across AWS, GCP, or Oracle Cloud.
Comfort working in ticket- and workflow-driven environments using Jira and Confluence.
Experience supporting enterprise SaaS tools such as Salesforce and Workday, as well as SSO and identity integrations such as Okta, is a plus.

Location

This position is remote and eligible for candidates located in the United States. Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with the manager.
