Details

NVIDIA is seeking an outstanding researcher to join its programming systems research team. The team develops tools that help programmers use parallel computing systems, including parallel algorithm techniques, expressive parallel programming models and languages, code analysis and generation tools, and scalable runtime environments. Researchers develop novel solutions and prototype software, then work with product teams to integrate ideas into NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop algorithms and design software extending the state of the art in parallel computing, machine learning, data analytics, and related technology areas.
  • Invent techniques, technologies, methodologies, and processes that enable new products or product categories.
  • Deliver prototypes, patents, and research publications.
  • Produce technology vision and the basis for products 5–10 years in the future.
  • Focus on future technologies rather than products currently shipping or in development, except where they can be extended or improved.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a PhD in a relevant discipline such as computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or mathematics.
  • Two or more years of relevant industrial and university experience preferred. Relevant industries include hardware, software, and algorithm development for desktop, mobile, embedded, and datacenter systems.
  • Strong programming ability in at least one of C, C++, Python, or Rust.
  • A track record of research contributions in programming languages, compilers, runtime systems, parallel algorithms, formal verification, agentic software authoring and optimization, or related fields.
  • Published academic papers in the field of research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise applying programming systems insights and techniques to machine learning, data science, and/or distributed computing.
  • Expertise using AI to author, optimize, verify, and maintain software.
  • Ability to implement ideas to run on the GPU.
  • Experience building software systems used by other developers.

Benefits

  • Intern hourly rates are based on position, location, year in school, degree, and experience, with a stated range of USD 38–94 per hour.
  • Eligible for intern benefits.
  • NVIDIA is committed to an inclusive work environment and is an equal opportunity employer.

Applications will be accepted at least until October 4, 2026. This posting is for an existing vacancy. NVIDIA uses AI tools in its recruiting processes.
