Details

Perplexity launched Computer in 2026 as a product for the era of agentic AI. Product Managers work closely with design and engineering to develop product systems and experiences that help users discover, adopt, and gain lasting value from Perplexity. The role requires strong communication and writing skills, product intuition, analytical rigor, and the ability to envision innovative technology.

Responsibilities

  • Own the upsell roadmap, building new upsell levers and iterating on existing ones to improve growth metrics.
  • Run onboarding experiments that help new users achieve a successful outcome faster, from signup and intent routing through first-session guidance.
  • Build personalized recommendations, including connector recommendations, follow-up suggestions, and segment-aware surfaces.
  • Own upgrade flows for free-to-paid conversion, plan upgrades, and paid credit purchases.
  • Drive adoption of new Computer features by determining who sees what, when, and through which product surface, and measure whether adoption leads to retention and paid usage.
  • Drive cross-device conversion between web, mobile, and desktop apps through in-product prompts, lifecycle messaging, and onboarding.
  • Analyze funnels, cohorts, and segments to identify high-leverage opportunities, and define metrics, denominators, and cohort windows.
  • Maintain guardrails around retention, support volume, and margin while improving conversion.
  • Write product specifications, tickets, and experiment briefs, and coordinate execution across engineering, design, data, and marketing.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of total work experience with a strong academic record.
  • Approximately 2 years in investment banking, strategy consulting, or a comparable high-intensity analytical role, followed by operating experience in a growth or product role at a startup or as a company founder.
  • Highly analytical, fluent in SQL, and comfortable with experiment design and statistical readouts.
  • Ability to think in user journeys, personas, and behavioral triggers, recognizing that average lifts can conceal losses within specific segments.
  • Strong product judgment and awareness of the second-order effects of product decisions.
  • Ability to own multiple parallel experiments and move between analysis, specification writing, and shipping.
  • Bias to action, low ego, and high ownership; comfortable working in ambiguous environments where processes are still being defined.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation platforms such as Eppo, Statsig, Optimizely, or equivalent in-house systems.
  • Experience with subscription and usage-based billing products, paywalls, or paid upgrade experimentation.
  • Experience shipping across web and native mobile surfaces.

Mission

Perplexity's mission is to power curiosity. The company describes curiosity as a continuous cycle of learning, building, and integrating: learning through research, building new solutions, and integrating with the world to drive change and adoption.

Benefits

Full-time U.S. employees receive benefits including equity, health, dental, vision, retirement, fitness, commuter and dependent care accounts, and more. USD salary ranges apply only to U.S.-based positions. Final offers depend on factors including experience and expertise.
