Product Manager II, Wallets and DeFi

Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company. Employees are expected to meet quarterly for in-person working sessions called “surges.”

The Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) is building crypto infrastructure at scale for businesses worldwide. This role owns the Flexible Custody roadmap, serving fintechs, brokers, and corporates with custody and DeFi needs.

Responsibilities

• Own the Unified Custody roadmap end to end.
• Define the product strategy for custody model optionality, enabling customers to choose self-custody, custodial, or hybrid models for each use case without rebuilding integrations.
• Partner with engineering, security, legal, and compliance teams to launch custody and DeFi products that meet institutional standards for key management, controls, and regulatory posture.
• Translate customer and launch-partner needs into a prioritized roadmap tied to assets on platform and revenue targets.
• Measure and grow adoption using assets-on-platform, revenue, and funnel metrics from integration through funded accounts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience shipping developer-facing or API-first products, ideally in custody, wallets, or fintech infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of crypto custody models, including self-custody, MPC, and qualified custodians.
• Understanding of DeFi primitives such as lending, vaults, and onchain yield.
• Track record of shipping 0-to-1 products with engineering teams and taking them to production scale with enterprise customers.
• Experience operating in regulated environments and partnering with legal and compliance teams on licensing, asset segregation, and risk frameworks.
• Data-driven prioritization skills, including defining success metrics and holding teams accountable for adoption and revenue outcomes.
• Ability to use generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight while delivering business-ready outputs and improving workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual base salary: $144,500–$170,000 USD, excluding equity and bonus.
• Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
• Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
