Airbnb’s Analytics Centre of Excellence (ACOE) in India provides scalable, data-driven analytics across functions including payments, trust, digital, customer support, hosting, sales, compliance, risk, platforms, and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Work with technical and business teams to develop robust insights, create data narratives, and define metrics using Airbnb’s data.
• Build advanced analytical capabilities and tools to solve complex problems with data and support business decisions.
• Leverage Airbnb’s machine learning infrastructure and central data science tools while collaborating with engineers, product managers, designers, and operations teams.
• Develop an understanding of how guests and hosts interact with Fraud & Safety processes, including risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Execute projects with regular direction, establish quarterly project roadmaps, provide stakeholder updates, and deliver against agreed timelines.
• Ensure data quality and integrity for analysis and reporting by blending external and internal data and working with global operations and India analytics teams.
• Perform data modeling for customers, hosts, cases, agents, and other entities using modern data modeling tools and frameworks.
• Execute ad hoc reporting, data investigations, and root-cause analyses across policy incubation, enforcement efficacy, prevalence, efficiency, agent tooling, staffing and optimization, and agent quality.
• Develop business metric frameworks and optimization models to support product, operations, and policy decisions.
• Influence data-driven decisions through business reviews, self-service portals, planning scorecards, and impact analyses.
• Experiment with new Airbnb policy and product features to deter and mitigate risk.
• Influence machine learning models in partnership with data science and engineering teams to automate policy enforcement decisions and route complex cases for manual review.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of industry experience.
• An advanced degree in Business Analytics or another quantitative field; a master’s degree or PhD is a plus. Relevant fields include Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, and Operations Research.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural and cross-functional environments.
• Ability to conduct rigorous analysis and communicate conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience delivering full-stack data projects from inception to business impact.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL/NoSQL and programming languages such as Python, R, and SAS.
• Intermediate knowledge of data foundations and databases such as Presto, Hive, Teradata, and Spark.
• Advanced proficiency in statistical and machine learning techniques and Tableau or a similar business intelligence platform.
• Familiarity with exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, significance testing, linear and logistic regression, SVM, ridge and lasso regression, random forest, basic NLP, KNN, K-Means, A/B testing, multivariate testing, and digital funnel testing.
• Positive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity.
• Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge and experience in Fraud & Safety operations, systems, and tools is a plus.
