Following the recent Workday Financials go-live, this role will serve as the internal functional lead for Workday Financials, owning the design and configuration of the Financial Data Model (FDM), Chart of Accounts, and dimensional structures that support financial reporting. The role will develop Prism Analytics and Accounting Center solutions, gather requirements, build reporting capabilities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive adoption of the Workday platform.

The position combines finance domain expertise with technical implementation and involves partnering with implementation consultants, engineering teams, finance stakeholders, Integrations, Security, Financials configuration, Data Infrastructure, and BizTech teams. The role will help establish a financial systems foundation that supports Anthropic's growth and public company readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the internal functional lead for Workday Financials, partnering with implementation consultants to drive configuration decisions, validate designs, and ensure business requirements are met.
  • Partner with consultants on Phase X and net-new implementations.
  • Own the design and configuration of the Financial Data Model, including Chart of Accounts, Worktags, dimensional hierarchies, and Accounting Books.
  • Ensure financial data structures support GAAP and management reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Workday Prism Analytics and Accounting Center solutions, from source analysis and ingestion design through build and testing.
  • Integrate solutions with external data sources such as BigQuery and Pigment.
  • Gather requirements from Finance, Accounting, and FP&A stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into executive reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
  • Participate in implementation workshops, challenge requirements, and translate business needs into buildable designs and testable acceptance criteria.
  • Manage defects and data quality issues throughout the project lifecycle for implementations affecting Workday Record to Report.
  • Collaborate with Integrations, Security, and Financials configuration teams to align master data, journals, controls, and performance service-level agreements.
  • Partner with Data Infrastructure and BizTech teams on system integrations.
  • Drive ongoing Workday platform expansion and adoption, including biannual releases, process improvement, and automation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in finance systems, ERP implementation, or business systems analysis roles.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on Workday Financials experience.
  • Deep expertise in the Workday Financial Data Model, including Chart of Accounts design, Worktags configuration, dimensional hierarchies, and Accounting Books setup.
  • Strong experience with Workday Prism Analytics, including data modeling, source integration, calculated fields, and report development.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions and bridge finance stakeholders with technical implementation teams.
  • Experience across full ERP implementation lifecycles, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, data migration, cutover planning, and hypercare.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting processes, including General Ledger, multi-entity consolidation, intercompany accounting, and management reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving requirements and tight timelines.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a field relevant to the role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in accounting or finance, or CPA certification, with understanding of GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements.
  • Experience with Workday Accounting Center for complex journal automation and subledger accounting.
  • Technical proficiency with SQL, Python, or scripting languages for data analysis and integration support.
  • Experience integrating Workday with external data platforms such as BigQuery or cloud data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal controls for financial systems.
  • Experience with EPM or FP&A systems such as Pigment, Anaplan, or Adaptive Planning and their integration with ERP systems.
  • Experience at high-growth technology companies scaling toward IPO readiness.
  • Familiarity with Workday HCM and HCM-Financials integration points.
