Details

Grafana Labs is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join the Grafana Cloud Observability department and Cloud Integrations team. The team develops integrations that allow customers to collect, visualize, and act on telemetry from various systems and applications. The role involves building core tooling for Grafana Cloud's integrations and observability apps, with direct impact on the platform's out-of-the-box experience.

This is a full-time remote opportunity for candidates in the United States or Canada, working in the EST time zone.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and scale infrastructure observability features in Grafana Cloud.
Ship features end to end, from the user interface through backend services, dashboards, and alerts.
Work across the full stack, including React panels, Go services, and Jsonnet monitoring mixins.
Own projects from problem definition through production, including user communication and evaluating shipped functionality.
Write design proposals, run demos, and represent the team's roadmap in cross-team discussions.
Contribute upstream to Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana Alloy.
Participate in the on-call rotation for owned services.
Use AI coding assistants for prototyping, test generation, refactoring, documentation, and incident follow-ups within security guidelines and quality standards.
Collaborate effectively in a remote-first environment through written communication and video meetings.

Requirements

Interest in working across the full stack with a product-focused mindset.
Experience with both backend and frontend development. The primary technologies are Go and TypeScript, though experience with comparable languages may translate well.
Fluency with AI-assisted development, including coding agents and LLM tooling.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Comfort raising concerns, advocating for team work, and communicating visibly across the organization.
Working knowledge of the observability ecosystem, including Prometheus, Grafana dashboards, alerting, and production operations.
Strong written communication skills for working across documents, issues, and pull requests in multiple time zones.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects.

Experience writing Jsonnet or another configuration-as-code language.
Experience being on call for the systems being instrumented.
