About the Role

Cluster Linking replicates Kafka clusters and supports disaster recovery, migrations from open-source Kafka, and cross-organization data sharing. This role will define the future of Cluster Linking, including seamless disaster recovery for Kafka workloads, self-service migration paths into Confluent Cloud, and cross-organization real-time data sharing.

The role owns the growth of one of Confluent's fastest-growing platform products, working across Kafka, cloud infrastructure, networking, and security.

Responsibilities

• Launch and drive adoption for a one-click disaster recovery initiative, turning a manually configured capability into a seamless productized experience.
• Define the future of real-time stream sharing across organizations, including security models, networking, access controls, and scalability.
• Develop capabilities that allow customers to migrate to Confluent through a few clicks or API calls.
• Segment and repackage Cluster Linking for disaster recovery, migrations, data sharing, and cross-cloud replication use cases.
• Define packaging, pricing, and positioning for the product.
• Partner closely with the engineering manager to understand tradeoffs, make decisions quickly, and advance the product.
• Work directly with customers to guide architectures and models, understand future needs, and balance current opportunities with the product roadmap.
• Drive results through campaigns with sellers and solutions engineers, webinars, and subject-matter-expert teams.
• Build cross-functional alignment and turn organizational momentum into product momentum.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience, ideally with infrastructure, data platforms, or cloud products.
• Experience shipping technical products and driving measurable outcomes.
• Genuine interest in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. Prior Kafka expertise is not required.
• Results-driven mindset and the ability to proactively coordinate with sellers and other stakeholders.
• Proven ability to influence engineering, field, sales, finance, and leadership teams without formal authority.
• Strong ownership mentality and the ability to bring ambiguous problems to clarity, remove blockers, and drive execution.
• Business thinking beyond the backlog, including segmentation, packaging, pricing, and market impact.
• Clear communication skills, including explaining technical topics to executives, writing product documentation, and presenting to customers and leadership.
• LLM or GenAI knowledge is a bonus but not required.
